ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT WORKING AT MOHICAN HAUNTED SCHOOLHOUSE:
- We are open 11-13 nights a haunt season. You select the nights you are sure you can do! We strive for consistency and the same team as many nights as possible.
- The positions we have are Support team and Actor. There are limited numbers of these, and we try to put team members where they will thrive! Support team include Tickets, Door person, parking, Make-up, and merchandise shop.
- The minimum age to work is 16. If you are under 18, your guardian/parents must be agreeable to this.
- We request and pay to have a law enforcement official at the door every night for workers and customers’ safety.
- We have a metal detector and screener at the door for additional safety.
- We provide dinner when the door opens for workers between 5 and 6:15 pm. We ask everyone to be ready to go, have dinner, be in costume, and in make-up by 6:30 pm. The time you arrive depends on whether you do your make-up at home or prefer to use our supplies or have our make-up artist apply your make-up or use a mask.
- Water and snacks are provided during the night.
- You must be able to perform/provide your service for an estimated 4 ½ hours with minimal interruptions, (the time frame we are open to the customers).
- At 11 pm the door is shut to the public. Customers in the haunt at that time are entitled to go through. At times, this can take up to another 45 minutes for them to reach the end depending on their pace. We dismiss our workers after the last group goes through their area. If you are at the beginning of the haunt, you will be dismissed before those at the end of the haunt.
- You DO NOT NEED EXPERIENCE! We will offer you training, assistance with costuming if you are an actor, and provide a haunt tee shirt if you are in support.
- We have training days, a rehearsal, a kickoff party, an end of season party, and additional rewards.
- We attempt to assign workers to a specific role; however, you may have to float to a different spot depending on the nights you are available. The exception is those THAT ENJOY CHANGE AND ELECT TO BE A FLOAT ACTOR! This means, you go where there is a need, such as if there is a call off.
- You are paid a lump sum at the end of the season. The amount depends on how many nights you worked.
- We do have RULES and EXPECTATIONS for everyone on the team. This is with a goal of giving a great show every night!
- If you don’t like it, simply let us know. Likewise, if we think this is not working, we will let you know. You will be paid the nights you did work at the end of the season if you are not able to complete the season.
