Q. When is Mohican Haunted Schoolhouse open this year?
A. Please see the calendar under DATES & HOURS. On days we are open, our ticket booth operates from 7 to 11 PM. The entry door is locked at 11 pm and no late entry will be permitted.
Q. What do the daily time options mean when purchasing online tickets? Are these tickets timed?
A. Limiting tickets sold online in a specific time frame helps us anticipate and control the number of customers, especially on busy nights. The selected time is NOT a guaranteed entry for that time slot though we do endeavor to keep on schedule. We expect you to arrive during the date and time frame you chose.
*There is an option when you purchase your tickets online to purchase insurance if due to certain circumstances you are not able to attend your selected date.
Q. If I miss my time will I still be able to attend?
A. Yes, if you arrive before 11 pm. If you miss your date and still want to attend, please email us the date you want to attend and the date you purchased tickets for. We will confirm with you if we can accommodate you. If it is a date that is a higher price, you will have to pay the difference.
Q. Will I get immediate entry if I buy onsite tickets, which cost more than online?
A. No. A Fast Pass can be purchased for a shorter wait onsite or an online ticket can be upgraded.
Q. How scary is Mohican Haunted Schoolhouse? Is there an age limit?
A. The goal of a haunted house IS TO SCARE YOU! Children 12 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. The adult needs to determine what content is appropriate for the child they are responsible for. Every customer must be capable of navigating the haunted house without being carried or physically assisted (see next FAQ). PLEASE DO NOT BRING INFANTS or TODDLERS! They will not be admitted.
Q. What are the physical requirements for navigating Mohican Haunted Schoolhouse?
A. Customers should expect 30+ minutes of continuous walking, including going up and down multiple staircases. Atmospheric conditions include bright, blinking, STROBING, and potentially disorienting lights, low-lights, fog, water, areas of complete darkness, loud jarring noises and music, and unexpected or startle scares. There is a claustrophobia (pressure) wall section, a vortex spinning tunnel, and an outdoor area to get to the exit. People with any medical condition that could be adversely affected should not attend. If you have questions, please check with your medical provider and see if this is appropriate for YOU!
*Customers may be denied access if they exhibit signs of not being able to navigate the haunt safely.
Q. Can I leave Mohican Haunted Schoolhouse if the experience is too intense?
A. Yes. Simply approach any actor/staff and request to leave. You will be escorted out as quickly as possible. If it is someone who should not be alone once they exit, a responsible member of their group should go with them. We do not provide supervision of minors at the haunted house, inside or outside.
Q. Will I be issued a refund if I request to leave or am told to leave for any reason, including inappropriate behavior?
A. No! No refunds are issued for any reason unless the haunted house is closed due to an unexpected occurrence. Once you leave or are escorted out, there will be no refunds or re-entry.
Q. What items are not permitted to be brought into the haunted house?
A. For the safety of all, we have a metal detector and wand inside the entrance. GUNS, KNIVES, CUTTERS, VAPES, LIGHTERS, E-CIGARETTES, BACKPACKS, BAGS, or any item we deem a possible safety concern, will be required to be returned to your car. Pockets and purses will be required to be emptied into a bin to check for items that could pose safety concern.
Q. Do your actors touch or grab customers?
A. Contact by our actors/staff would be unintentional, for assistance reasons, or you are posing for a photo in an area where you may use a camera. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE CUSTOMERS TO INTENTIONALLY TOUCH the workers in the haunt!
Q. Can I record and take photos inside the haunt?
A. Use of recording devices and taking photos inside the queue line is allowed up to the point your group is counted, and you are directed to the first staircase. We request NO RECORDING DEVICES BE ON AFTER THIS POINT until you leave through the backyard gate. You may be ejected from the haunted house for using a recording device. It is disruptive to the flow of customers and a distraction to actors and other customers.
Q. Do you offer discounts?
A. Yes. Our tickets are cheaper online with the addition of group discounts online for specific nights. The group size must be 10 or more and made with one purchase. See under our calendar or CLICK TO BUY ONLINE button. NO OTHER DISCOUNTS WILL BE OFFERED AT THIS TIME!
Q. I’m interested in working for Mohican Haunted Schoolhouse. Where do I find out more or apply?
A. That’s great! Please refer to the JOBS page and read its entirety. We are open for limited days and depend on our workers to be here. If you can comply with rules, are a team player, and LOVE the horror genre, you are welcome to apply online!
Q. Why does your ticket booth close at 11 PM?
A. We limit our hours since many of our workers have regular jobs and family obligations. Working at a haunted attraction can be demanding and exhausting. By limiting our hours, we hope everyone can bring their “A” game and look forward to their performance. Also, we are in a residential area with neighbors that deserve consideration as to how late we are open.
Q. What if my property gets damaged, stolen, or lost while I am on the haunt property?
A. Mohican Haunted Schoolhouse will NOT accept liability or reimburse anyone for lost, stolen, or damaged property that is brought onto or into the premises. Lost items should be reported to the attendant in the merchandise shop as you leave. Please make sure your contact information is current and accurate in the event your item is found or turned in.
